Green Promenade – Rehabilitation of the Northern Lakes of the Capital (Romania)
Project carried out in collaboration with TERA DESIGN STUDIO – specialized in architecture, landscape architecture, and urban planning.
This project serves multiple purposes, the most important of which is ensuring the stability of the banks of Lakes Băneasa, Grivița, and Străulești. Currently, these banks are in varying stages of degradation, with some sections posing risks to the structural stability of nearby roadways and even residential buildings.
The proposal involves replacing or reinforcing the existing bank protections using environmentally friendly solutions—such as synthetic sheet piles—thus ensuring shoreline stability. This intervention paves the way for the redevelopment of the lakeshores through the creation of park areas and cycle-pedestrian paths, forming an extended promenade around the perimeter of the three lakes. Additionally, the project explores the possibility of implementing a public water transport system, offering a new connectivity option for local residents.

Restoration of the Dâmbovița River Deck and Urban Renewal of Public Spaces in the Unirii Underpass – Unirii Square District
As part of this project, a full reconstruction of the Unirii deck is being undertaken, a strategically important initiative for the road infrastructure of the capital. The new structure will completely replace the existing deck, originally built in 1934, and will be designed to meet modern traffic and safety requirements.
The interventions include:
- Complete demolition of the old reinforced concrete structure;
- Construction of a new deck, adapted to current traffic conditions and the flow rate of the Dâmbovița River;
- Complex riverbed works, including foundation and lining repairs, as well as temporary diversion of the river;
- Rehabilitation of the pipeline that supplies the waterfall downstream of the underpass.
This project makes a vital contribution to the urban regeneration of Unirii Square, integrating modern engineering solutions into an iconic historical space.

Soil Erosion Control, Landslide Area Rehabilitation, and Excess Moisture Management in the Horezu–Vaideeni Region
The project aims to reduce the risk of natural disasters in two of the most vulnerable localities in Vâlcea County—Horezu and Vaideeni—through the implementation of complex torrent control measures.
Interventions are carried out on 42 active torrential formations, focusing on erosion control, protection of inhabited areas, and improved water runoff management.
The works include:
- Construction of gabion weirs and check dams to reinforce streambanks and prevent upstream erosion;
- Stabilization of streambeds and slopes affected by landslides;
- Gradual siltation of torrent beds through controlled sediment deposition, reinforced with natural vegetation;
- Hydraulically dimensioned drainage channels designed to safely carry liquid and solid flows in areas near built-up zones.
Through these engineering solutions, the project makes a significant contribution to protecting the local population and infrastructure, while also supporting the hydrological balance of the region.
